Welcome to Summer & Lavender-Lemon Iced Green Tea Recipe

Summer is in full swing around here, and it’s been HOT! I wanted to make a drink that was refreshing, relaxing, and not too sweet. I love this recipe because it’s like a spa aromatherapy treatment and a nutritious, hydrating beverage all in one 🙂 It combines the heavenly scents of lavender essential oil and fresh squeezed lemons with iced green tea and just a touch of sweetener for  a special treat.

I used coconut nectar as a low-glycemic sweetener combined with stevia. I like to combine stevia with other sweeteners because I don’t necessarily “appreciate” the taste all by itself, but when it’s combined with something else it helps to increase sweetness without the aftertaste.

Inhale deeply as you sip. Ahhhh. Hope you are enjoying your summer!

Lavender-Lemon Iced Green Tea

Lavender-Lemon Iced Green Tea

  • 4 green tea bags
  • water
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about three small lemons)
  • 3-4 drops Lavender E.O. (start with 3 - it has a strong taste) (Make sure you are using organic, pure, food grade essential oil)
  • 1/4 cup coconut nectar (or sweetener of choice)
  • stevia (optional)
  • ice

Heat water in a large pan to almost boiling. Remove from heat. Add teabags and steep about five minutes. Remove tea bags.

Stir in sweetener to thoroughly dissolve.

Pour tea into gallon container. Add water and/or ice to make one gallon (and to cool it down).

Add lemon juice and essential oil. Taste and adjust if necessary.

Serve over ice while relaxing on your deck.
