Ridiculous Easy Slow Cooker Shredded Chicken

Tacos are a standby on Friday nights at our house, and they often include this amazing and EASY two-ingredient shredded chicken. I’m kind of embarrassed to post this “recipe” because it seriously couldn’t be easier, but I feed many people at my house and I get a lot of requests for this recipe. So here you go! YUM

Ingredients:

  • One bag frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts (40 oz)
  • One bottle your favorite salsa

Directions:

Dump frozen chicken in slow cooker.

Pour salsa over the top.

Turn slow cooker on high for 1-2 hours. Turn to low and continue cooking for 3-5 more hours until chicken is VERY tender. It should shred when you press it gently with a fork.

When done cooking, use a fork to shred all the chicken. Leave the top off the slow cooker if there’s too much liquid. Add more salsa if you need to. Serve on tortillas with toppings of your choice.

If you don’t have time to wait around while it cooks on high for an hour or two, just leave it on low for 6 to 8 hours. It will be fine! You can’t mess this up. Serve in tacos, burritos, enchiladas, taco soup. It makes a ton, but extras freeze fabulously.
