Lavender-Lemon Face Scrub

Ingredients:

  • 5 tablespoons oil (any combination of: argan, jojoba, almond, coconut)
  • 5 tablespoons honey
  • 1+ 1/2 – 2 cups sugar
  • 6 drops lavender essential oil
  • 5 drops lemon essential oil
  • 5 drops rosemary essential oil
  • 2 tablespoons lavender buds (optional)

Directions:

  • Mix together oil, honey, and essential oils.
  • Stir in 1 + 1/2 cups sugar. Add  more if needed to achieve desired consistency. It should be relatively “dry” and fluffy looking (but not fluffy feeling :)) It is a little tricky to mix in, but I use a big bowl and just keep squishing it with the back of a large spoon to get everything incorporated.
  • Add in the lavender buds if desired towards the end.
  • Store in a tightly lidded glass jar.

Note: If you prefer a different consistency you can add more or less oil or sugar. This is very flexible 🙂

To use:

Take about a teaspoon and gently spread on wet or dry skin. This will be messy so do it over a sink, tub or towel. Let sit on your face for a few minutes then make small, gentle circles all over your face. Rinse off with a warm water and enjoy your silky, smooth face. Use care not to rub too hard. Be gentle!

Fun Variation:

Add  tablespoon black pepper for a stimulating and detoxifying effect. This is great all over, but I’d do a little test on your face before using it there. Avoid eyes and any sensitive areas.
