Overnight Jar

 

With the overnight jar you can mix it up the night before (or several days) ahead of time and store it in the fridge until you are ready to grab and go, possibly adding a few toppings before you head out the door. You will be thrilled to find a delicious breakfast waiting for you that will sustain you until noon.

Alternatively, you could spend some time creating enough breakfasts to last you and your family an entire week or month!!! What?!? Yes! It’s totally possible and so very rewarding.

Here is a sample recipe from the book to give you an idea of the type of recipes you will find there.

Choco-Cherry Collaboration

Dry Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup oats
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder

Wet Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup canned coconut milk
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • Honey or other sweetener to taste
  • ¾ cup frozen or fresh cherries

 

Overnight Jar Instructions:

  1. Mix everything except cherries in a one-pint jar.
  2. Place cherries on top of mixture in jar.
  3. Attach a note to the jar for the morning: “Choco-Cherry Collaboration: Stir and enjoy!”
  4. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Make-Ahead Packet Instructions:

Mix all dry ingredients together in a plastic bag or jar.

Variation – Try adding dried cherries to your packet instead of fresh ones in the morning. The tart ones are especially delicious.

Note to Include with Mix:

Choco-Cherry Collaboration: Stir the contents of mix with ¼ cup canned coconut milk, ½ cup almond milk, sweetener of choice, ¾ cup frozen/thawed/fresh cherries (unless using dried cherries in mix). Let mixture sit for 15-30 minutes. Stir again and enjoy.
