Crispy “Cheezy” Kale Chips

Better than potato chips in so many ways. I promise.

Kale chip w text (1024x1024)

Ingredients:Add this to pieces of kale

1 bunch kale, destemmed and torn into largish, bite-size pieces (about like a large potato chip :))

1-2 T olive oil

garlic salt to taste

1/4 c nutritional yeast (more or less to taste)

Do this:

photo 3

Put kale pieces in large bowl.

Drizzle kale with olive oil and massage with your hands until all the pieces are covered. Oops, did I forget to tell you this was a messy recipe?

Sprinkle with garlic salt and nutritional yeast and mix lightly with your hands or tongs. Taste it and adjust seasonings if necessary.

Lay on cookie sheets or dehydrator trays so the pieces aren’t overlapping.

Bake at 300 for 15-25 minutes. Check frequently after 15 minutes because they start to burn very quickly. They should just be crispy, but not too browned. In a dehydrator this takes 10-14 hours depending on your dehydrator. It’s hard to overdo it in a dehydrator so it’s a little easier in that sense.

Keep in tightly sealed jar or other container. They are best eaten soon after making while they are still crispy.
